Adolescence Education Programme

1.                      Reproductive Health Physical changes and STDs

(i/c Smt. A. Vishwakarma)
On date 15-04-09 , 17/04/09, 18/04/09 lecture on Reproductive Health Physical changes and STDs were given to students of class X and XII and questions were asked by the students. The topics discussed by the students were:-
•    Adolescence

•    Age of Puberty

•    Reproductive System

•    Reproductive Health

•    RTI

•    AIDS
The students got the information regarding Adolescence Education and its usefulness in school Education.
Along with this the students were taught about the age of puberty and physical, emotional and hormonal changes in the age of puberty.
    Reproductive System of male & female were explained to them also about the formation of ovum and sperm in females & males respectively.
Today reproductive Health is the most important topic to be taught to the students. The definition of reproductive health and concepts of reproductive health was made clean to students. Also students were taught about the RTI and STDs with special reference to AIDS and Hepatitis B.
    Students were asked to put questions in the above topic and students discussed on RTI, precautions and window period and ABC of AIDS.
   



2.                                                 Adolescence and Drug Abuse
(Lecture by Smt. A. Vishwakarma)
On 12-08-09, 17-08-09 and 18-08-09 the lectures delivered to class XII students were on Adolescence and drug abuse.
    The classification of drugs their mental and physical effects, withdrawal symptoms were explained to the students.
    Special emphasis was given how a student gets diverted and starts taking drugs students were counselled to never take drugs in their life as it spoils the self, family and society.
    Students discussed on different drugs having stimulant, suppressant and hallucinogenic effect in the body of a person- students specially discussed of oploide drugs, cannabinoids and cocaine drugs.
Students understood how drug abuse leads to RTI infections like AIDS and Hepatitis B.
Students also discussed on alcohol and nicotine. Their effects on central nervous system and physiological effects and emotional effects.
    A broad discussion was made on side effects of steroids in male and female how mood alterations, aggressiveness, feminine/ masculine characters develop in the body of boy and girls.
Drug addiction and adolescence was discussed clearly and in interesting way with students.








3.                                                     Health & Hygiene
( Lecture by Smt. Asha Patel)
On 27-11-09 the discussion was made on health & hygiene . the students were told about their personal hygiene and health.
The hygienic condition is necessary to be maintained in adolescence period. Staff nurse Smt. A. Patel delivered the lecture to girls specially on the hygienal conditions to be maintained during menstrual period. The misconceptions of menstrual period were made clear to the students.
4.                                              RALLY ON AIDS DAY

On 01/12/09 Rally was organized undr AEP by the students of non board class. Students with banner moved in village Badwara, slogan were delivered by students for the awareness on AIDS. Students of class 9th performed nukkad Natak, in village Badwara in the market and near Hospital. Shailesh Sahu and other students told the people about AIDS and how AIDS spread from person to person. How can people save their life from AIDS.

Rally started from JNV Badwara to Govt. Excellence Hr. Sec. School and showed nukkad natak, students of class VII & VIII & IX participated in this Rally. Students enjoyed snacks after the completion of rally. AEP team including their teachrs moved along with the students with banner and slogans. Active participation in Nukkad Natak was shown by students of class IX.

‘Nukkad Natak’ explained everything to the people. People appreciated with clappings. At last students took refreshment and came back to school.
    AIDS rally was successful rally and students shared their views with the people of Badwarra and explained them how they can be safe from AIDS. People of Badwara appreciated students.

5.                                                         SKIT
( Organizeer and resource person – Shri Y. Verma & Shri U. Nagpure)
    On                        skit was organized in a competition manner in Vidyalaya. The theme for the skit was Adolescence Education and sub themes were Drug abuse, AIDS, RTI, etc. Students performed very well. The organizers were Mr. Y. Verma & Mr. U. Nagpure. The 4 groups participated in the Skit.

2)    Group -    Shailesh and group        Drug Abuse
3)    Group -    Khushbu and Group        Nash Mukti
4)    Group -     Mohini and Group        AIDS
All groups performed well. Judges were.

    All the students performed their part very well.


    Principal appreciated students and also gave some hints to improve their performance and dialogue delivery in the programme. Principal also asked them to play skit in English language.


6 & 7                                          Lecture on Life Skills
( Lecture by Mr. S.S. Patro)

    Life skills lecture was delivered on date 19/12/09, 21/12/09 & 22/12/09  Lecture by Shri S. S. Patro (TGT Oriya) Ph. D. life skill reg.
    The points discussed in the life skills were –
1)    Self awareness and Empathy
2)    Creativity and critical thinking
3)    Decision making and problem solving skill.
4)    Stress and emotion control skill.
5)    Interpersonal and effective communication skill.
6)    Technical and Occasional Skill.
 Along with this with each session question hour session of 15 minutes was kept for the doubts of students. In above 6 (six) life skill doubts of students were cleared. Student were motivated for positive thinking and behavioral changes for their success in life. A student should think and utilize there life skills in his / her life for the great success.


    Special class/ session was organized only for the depression and suicide cases, in adolescence, students discussed a lot with S.S. Patro about the reasons of depression and suicide and how to avoid such condition in their life, students also discussed for the students attitude toward society, family and self so that they may live a successful life.
    On date  26/12/09  a test on life skills was conducted by S.S. Patro for the evoluation of students. The students were eager to know about them and their evalutation was discussed by S. S. Patro with students. Question paper were separately distributed and answered by students.

8.               PROGRAMME AT EXCELLENCE HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL
(organizer – Smt. A. Vishwakarma & Y. Verma)

    On date  28/12/09 programme at Excellence Hr. Sec. School was organized under AEP. Principal of Excellence school Mr. S. Jain and staff members & students gave their presence in the programme. The organizer Mrs Alka Vishwakarma and Mrs. S. tiwari (TGT Science) R. Pandey, Mr. Yogeshwar Verma, Students of JNV Badwara, Mrs. S. Parveen also cooperated in the programme.

    Speech related to adolescence, Reproductive health and life skills was delivered by Mrs. Alka Vishwakarma. Students listened and asked questions related with the topic and cleared their doubts Mrs S. Tiwari TGT Science gave a speech on drug addiction and their harmful effects. We made an appeal to the students to never use drugs and nicotine etc.
    A skit was shown to students and staff of Govt. Excellence School by the students of JNV which shared how teenagers get under peer pressure and start taking drugs and get in the wrong path. The play was appreciated byh all audience . the students participated in skit were Shailesh Sahu, Shivam Tripathi,
    At last an appreciating speech was delivered by Principal Mr. S. Jain of Govt. Excellence school. He appreciated the students of JNV and motivated other students to perform in other schools.
